We now switch from Texas to Colorado for the engine installation.

A shot of the Van's Finishing Kit

A view of the engine mount in the kit.

Engine mount with the nose wheel gear leg installed.

Firewall preparation before engine is hung.

Relays, fuel feed, and cabin heat connection.

Fuel and oil pressure lines and connections.

Installing the engine mount. (before torquing)

The engine has arrived from Superior Air Parts. A 300-pound "cranky" baby!

A rear view with the wrapping still on.

Front-side angle shot.

On the hoist, early Saturday morning on a cold Colorado Winter day.

The single-point lift made manuvering and positioning the engine very easy.

Bob Murphy (A holder of five Masters Degrees) and Joe Peterson (accomplished pilot with thousands of hours of sky-diving) helped out. Their efforts were much appreciated.

An improvised drift-pin assembly was used to make the final connection. Perfect alignment.

Connie's fitting the last set of washers and nut.

The assembly team. Joe front-left and Bob center-rear. Two gentlemen who helped to make this effort successful (and reasonably quick on a very cold day).

Connie's Christmas Card.

One final note of appreciation for John Erhlich who loaned us the engine hoist.

Thought we'd dress the baby for a holiday picture.
