First Engine Start

"Not every difficult and dangerous thing is suitable for training, but only that which is conducive to success in achieving the object of our effort."
- Epictetus

The biggest day to date in the Socash RV-7A project - our first engine start.

Rege checks the instrumentation.

So far, all looks good.

Our good family friend, Bob Murphy, drains fuel to check for contamination.

Pilot martini!

Rege takes a final check for particulates in the fuel.

It's time to roll the plane out into position."

Heavy cement chocks are always a good idea when you've never really had the opportunity to use your breaks before!

A few final thoughts.

One last check at the oil filter and oil cooler so we'll know what to compare it to after we run the engine - leaks after the fact would indicate more work is needed.

Going over the starting sequence.

Bob is at the ready with a fire extinguisher.

Ready......

Set....
