Mt. Bierstadt, Colorado

July 2007 -- Mt. Bierstadt, Colorado

The Mt. Bierstadt trailhead begins at the top of Guanalla Pass. After walking through willows for an hour or so, we (Connie and sister Lesley) make it to the trail where we start to make some real gain in altitude.

The wildflowers are at their peak in July.

One of the cairns is our clue that we are on track.

There's the party we're looking for!

We've made it to the top....

...and so have the parts!

Here's the marker telling us we're at the summit.

Across the ridge is Mt. Evans - see you next year!

The views are nothing short of spectacular.

On our way back down we take a look back at the summit.

And now back down through the willows to the car...it's been a long but satisfying day.
