Mt. Huron, Colorado

July 2007 -- Mt. Huron, Colorado

It's another 6:00am departure from the trailhead. We're currently looking out to the west. Our path takes us along the west side of the mountain - we'll be hiking in the shade for a while.

"Goodbye, campsite. See you in a few hours."

THAT is the top of Mt. Huron, a gentle ascent along the ridgeline on the left.

A good portion of this mountainside still has snow.

Looking back at what we've traversed so far....

...and we made it! Here are some spectacular views out to the east.

A little more north are the "Apolstles".

My proof that I, as well, made it up here.

Yet another reason why I love Colorado - where else do you get to play in the snow in the morning and then drink margaritas on the patio in the eveining? (Did I mention that it is June?)

While waiting for the rest of the group we continue to take in the views (north).
To Jane and Deborah: "You inspire me." (I think your both totally NUTS, but you inspire me.)
