South Arapahoe Peak, Colorado

July 2008 -- South Arapahoe Peak, Colorado

This morning we start at the Fourth of July Trailhead inside the Indian Peaks Wilderness.

The sun is up, and the views are getting better by the minute.

This is South Arapahoe Peak, our destination.

Chris Wickens, our fearless leader.

Frank Casali joins in the fun along with dogs Buddy and Two-Socks.

And we made it!

The marker depicts the highest point.

This disc shows the directions and distances to various peaks in the area.

With weather and views like this, who wouldn't be smiling?

The trail back down initially faces west.

We're now facing back East again - Boulder is just slightly left of the picture.

The wildflowers are abundant this time of year.

One last look at some of the peaks...

Columbines are abundant along this trail.

I think we've got some very tired doggies here.
