Flight Test at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO

"The first time I ever saw a jet, I shot it down."
--General Chuck Yeager, USAF, describing his first confrontation with an Me262. "

For work, our team headed to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO to perform some flight tests. These tests were used to help develop a system to detect the onset of spatial disorientation of pilots. Tests required observing the reaction of a blindfolded participant while an Air Force Academy pilot performed a variety of maneuvers. For those of us in the plane who weren't blindfolded, the views outside the window were great!

Takeoff! (looking backwards from the back seat.)

To our west is Pikes Peak (see you in a year at the top!) and the USAFA field.

Our tests are finished! How about a souvenir picture with our favorite airplane parts!
